Virtual mobility

Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) are exchange visits aimed at supporting individual mobility, strengthening existing networks and fostering collaboration between researchers.

An STSM specifically contributes to the scientific objectives of SEA-UNICORN, whilst allowing participants to learn new techniques, gain access to specific data, instruments or methods not available in their own institutions/organisations, and establishing/reinforcing collaboration between researchers.

Participating rules

STSMs must respect the following criteria:

  1. Applicants must be engaged in an official research program as a PhD student or postdoctoral fellow or may be employed by, or affiliated to, an institution or legal entity which has within its remit a clear association with performing research.

  2. Minimum duration of 5 days and maximum duration of 90 days.

The first STSMs call is open until 15 April 2021 for STSMs to take place between 15 May 2021 and 31 August 2021.

Dates
  • opening and closing dates for the original call for applications: 7 to 15 April 2021

  • final date for submission of applications on a rolling basis: 31 May 2021

  • earliest start day for STSMs: 15 May  2021

  • latest day for completing STSMs: 31 August  2021
